In my family, there’s me, my husband, our five sons, two cats, and a dog. Have you even been inside a house where two adult men (my oldest son is 20), a teenage boy, a 10-year-old boy, a toddler boy, and an infant boy live? Plus pets? Seriously, it’s a non-stop battle to keep my house smelling nice. But with a baby in the house, plus a husband who thinks most of my scented candles smell “weird,” I don’t want to use anything that’s too strong or overpowering. So I was quite happy to hear that there’s now a line of Renuzit® Sensitive Scents™ products! These products are designed to provide long-lasting pleasant and effective scents without being overwhelming, and I received three different products in three different scents to try out.
Pure Water Blossom & Cucumber sounds like it might be a strange combination at first, but let me tell you, this scent smells amazing. (But full disclosure, my husband categorized this one as “weird… not bad, but weird.” He’s wrong, but I’m just sharing what he said). It smells more like flowers and less like cucumber – the cucumber part of the scent provides some crispness so that the flowery scent isn’t overwhelming though. This scent came in an adjustable scent cone, which I placed on a shelf near my desk. Since the shelf is over a radiator, it dispersed the scent even more than it would have otherwise, I think (but it also made it run out faster).
I knew the Pure White Pear & Lavender super odor neutralizer deodorizing spray would be a hit in our household even before I smelled it. We use a lot of lavender scented products as our autistic 10-year-old responds very well to its calming properties. We also use a LOT of sprayable scents. (Houseful of boys and pets, remember?) This scent doesn’t smell exactly like pear or lavender, but it’s a lovely scent when those two are combined. Very fresh and light and sweet smelling. This spray is great for spritzing the couch and curtains in the living room. It’s also great for spraying on a child’s shirt that *looks* clean but smells a little questionable, despite said child’s insistence that “It is so clean, and this is my favorite shirt!” and the bus is coming in two minutes. A quick spray or two as he heads out the door for school, and crisis averted.
My favorite scent from this collection, however, is the Pure Ocean Breeze scent. I was expecting a “clean linen” type of scent, but that’s not what this is at all. This scent came in a scented oil packaged with a universal oil warmer plug-in, and there’s a scratch-n-sniff sticker on the packaging so you know what you’re getting beforehand. I scratched and sniffed the little circle expecting something else but loved the coconut scent it gave off! There’s also a hint of bananas in there, I think, so it’s rather like being on a tropical island.
After giving these different Sensitive Scents products a try, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase them in the future. The scents are a great combination of light and long-lasting – they disperse through the room but aren’t overwhelming even when you’re right next to the scent cone or the oil warmer.
