We have so many stuffed animals in my house that I don’t know if I could count them if I tried. With four kids ranging in age from 1 all the way up to 18 who’ve received various plush toys over the years, plus my childhood favorites that I’ve handed down to my kids, we could open a stuffed animal zoo with no problem. Some of them talk, some of them sing, some of them have educational features, some of them just sit there and stare at you with their beady little eyes. But to my knowledge, there’s only one that has a function other than being a toy – and that’s our Clobber the Monster from Hoodsbee.
Hoodsbee has a collection of 8 characters (four for boys and four for girls) that aren’t just adorable plush toys – they’re also warm fuzzy hoodies! Clobber the Wrestling Monster transforms from a cuddle buddy to an adorable hoodie in seconds. Clobber is made of black Polar Fleece, with a hood lined with charcoal grey Polar Fleece. We’ve gotten LOADS of compliments on the hoodie every time Taylor wears it (which is unusual because the compliments we hear are usually directed at the baby himself and not his clothing). Everyone loves his hoodie and comments on how cute it is.
But not only is this a very soft, warm hoodie, Clobber is a friend too!
The unique factor to Hoodsbee hoodies is that they’re designed to transform into a friend (or even a pillow) for your child. You just fold in the arms and body of the hoodie and roll it up into the hood – the hoodie becomes the “stuffing” for the toy! And there are three little snaps to hold Clobber together until the next time we need him to transform back into a hoodie. Folded up, Clobber is even small enough to tuck into a purse or diaper bag.
Clobber is just one of eight Hoodsbee characters – his pals Tig the Tiger, Eyevan the Monster, and Anchor the Shark are part of the boys’ collection; the girls’ collection has Prancy the Panda, Mimi the Fox, Ribbons the Monkey, and Milo the Owl. The boys’ collection is all made of Polar Fleece, while the girls’ collection is made of Woobie (I’m not certain what Woobie is, but it appears to be a soft velvety material).
I’m a little bit sad that these hoodies are only available in sizes 2-7 for boys and 2-6X for girls (at least for the time being) – I know my 9-year-old son would love one of these hoodies in his size! Hopefully they’re able to expand into youth sizes soon! Until then, Taylor adores his Clobber toy/hoodie, and we’ll be buying him another Hoodsbee character (in the next size up)for Christmas – I’m leaning towards Tig the Tiger, but my husband likes Eyevan. (I’m sure Taylor will eventually be trying out both of them, since he still has several sizes of Hoodsbee hoodies to grow into).
Since Hoodsbee hoodies are both a toy AND clothing, they’re a great holiday gift for any little one on your list! It’s kind of like two presents in one!
Hoodsbee products are also available at Kohls.com – and as of the time of this posting, they’re on sale! They have a select Hoodsbee hoodies available in toddler sizes (2T-4T) for just $18, and kid sizes (5-7) for $21.99. I didn’t see Clobber on the Kohl’s site, but several other characters were available.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
