TunicTop-3I’m a mom of five boys, so at this point in my life, comfort trumps fashion. But sometimes I find something that’s both cute AND comfy, and this tunic top from AMIE Finery is one of those things. I’m not normally a fan of tunic style tops because, as a bigger girl, they tend to make me look like I’m wearing a tent. But this one drapes really nicely instead of just hanging straight down. The material is very light and flowy (so make sure you wear a t-shirt bra underneath, as lines from your undergarments will show through). It’s super comfortable, soft, and has some stretch to it (the material is 95% rayon and 5% spandex).

This top has three quarter sleeves, which as a taller girl (5’10) with long arms and legs makes me happy. (I can almost never find a shirt with full-length sleeves that covers my wrists without also being absolutely huge on me everywhere else – and I’m not even close to skinny!) Happily this top also covers my butt in case I want to wear it with leggings (like I am in the photos). Obviously it would be even longer on someone who’s shorter than I am. The neckline is also a nice scoop neck that looks fine by itself but also goes well with a scarf or chunky necklace.

If you’d like to order one of these tops for yourself, they’re available in six sizes (from small to 3XL) and nine colors (burgundy, heather charcoal, navy, olive, tomato red, yellow, black, royal blue, and white) for $17.95-$19.95 (depending on what size you order). You will want to check the size chart prior to ordering, though. I usually wear an XL in women’s shirts, but the size chart states that an XL is equivalent to a size 8. Umm, yeah, no. In numbers, I’m usually a 14/16 – but I’m currently breastfeeding, so I’ve been going up a size (or two) when ordering tops. So I ordered the burgundy tunic in a size 3XL (which I estimated would be roughly a size 12, yikes!) and crossed my fingers. As it turns out, I probably would have been fine with a 2XL or even my usual XL, as this top is designed to be very loose-fitting and flowy. I’m happy with the 3X though – it’s stylish enough to wear out and about, but comfy enough that I could sleep in it.

  1. This top is gorgeous and the type of top that I like wearing. I like how it flows in front. I will have to check out the site!
