Have you heard about Swiss Apple Stem Cell skin care yet? This is something that’s new to me, but according to Ageless Derma’s website, clinical trials showed that 100% of participants saw a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles after using a cream with 2% PhytoCellTec Malus Domestica, the main Swiss Apple stem cell. And this active ingredient won the “Best Active Ingredient” prize in European Innovation in 2008! Ageless Derma has taken the active apple stem cell ingredient and infused it with peptides, vitamins, and antioxidants to create a line of Apple Stem Cell products, and they sent me their Swiss Apple Stem Cell Mask to try out.
The Antioxidant Apple Stem Cell Hydrating Mask is made up of natural enzymes that not only leave skin feeling smooth and silky, but also will gently exfoliate dead skin cells that lie on the outer skin surface. This will stimulate collagen turnover, revealing fresher and younger looking skin without having to resort to abrasive chemicals or techniques.
As mentioned, it’s not just the Swiss apple stem cell ingredient in Ageless Derma’s products – they also include other natural enzymes to help give you silky smooth skin. Aloe barbadenis leaf juice is included to help heal and hydrate your skin; sunflower seed oil is included for protection and moisturization, and the mask includes natural kaolin clay to draw out impurities and toxins from your skin. Green tea and pomegranate are also included to protect against UV damage and fight free radical damage. (The full list of ingredients can be find on the website or at the end of this post).
I gave this mask a try, and was really happy with the results. I was a little bit sad that the mask doesn’t have an apple scent at all – it smells like clay, like other masks I’ve used. The use is similar to other masks as well – after washing your face, you spread a thin layer over your face and let it sit for 15 minutes. (Steaming is optional, and I didn’t do this). The consistency of the mask is very creamy when you apply it, and it dries to a thin layer over the course of the time you let it sit. This isn’t the kind of mask you peel off, you have to wash it off – for that reason, my personal recommendation is to use it right before you shower. Since it’s clay-based, it gets sort of sticky/slimy when you add water to rinse it off, so for me it’s easiest just to do it in the shower, where I don’t care if it drips or gets in my hair, plus that way I can make sure it’s thoroughly rinsed off. And even though your skin will feel really soft after using this mask, you’ll still want to follow up with a moisturizer (I’m currently using Ageless Derma’s Super Green Moisturizing Serum).
This mask comes in a 3 oz. tube, and a little goes a long way. It’s designed to both moisturize and gently exfoliate dead skin cells to leave your skin feeling smooth and silky, returning moisture and radiance to your skin with nature’s own antioxidants.
The product information says that you can expect your skin to feel smoother and have a more even tone after just a single use, and my skin definitely felt very soft and smooth after the first time I tried it. The information also says that skin will look more radiant and feel silkier, with a visible improvement in elasticity, suppleness, and firmness with continued use – it doesn’t say how long these results are expected to take, but after my previous positive experiences with Ageless Derma products, I have high hopes for even better skin in the near future!
